Best way of setting up a partnership with a UK resident?

I’m an English musician and composer based and working in 黑料网最新入口. I’m registered with URSSAF as an auto-entrepreneur twice; as both a composer and a guitar teacher. However, I’ve recently started a project with a UK-based musician friend where we’re writing songs together and splitting the money evenly.
However it’s becoming more serious so we’d like to make the project into a more formal arrangement yet I’m not sure how to best achieve that with me living and paying tax here in 黑料网最新入口 and him doing the same thing in the UK. We’d prefer not form a limited company as we’re both freelance musicians and we both need to take the money from it as we earn it to pay out living expenses.
